Spring 2016
Tuesday & Thursday: 3:30 - 4:45
University of Connecticut: Hartford Campus

Course Description

Course Materials

This course covers paradigms of philosophical problems. The first half of the class is historical. It focuses on proofs for the existence of God and issues surrounding skepticism and idealism. The second half of the course focuses on contemporary issues in philosophy. In particular, it examines the problem of free will, whether or not machines can think, and the nature of time.

The course is designed to be an introduction to philosophy generally. It provides some foundations in the history of philosophy and an orientation to contemporary issues.
